Hydrocephalous means increase in fluid (CSF) in the ventricles of the brain leading to headache, vomiting and blurring of vision. This may be due to infection (commonly tubercular meningitis), bleeding in brain (SAH or head injury) or congenital (birth defect). Treatment options are Ventriculo-Peritneal shunt or Endoscopic third ventriculostomy. Both can procedures have different indications and merits/demerits. Pictures of VP shunt are attached.
